====== Campbell, Peter Sinclair ====== (1847-27 Dec.1930), educator. (P.S. Campbell, Peter S. Campbell) Born at Dominionville. Parents: Alexander Campbell and his wife Margaret Sinclair. He was converted in the Great Revival. He attended Woodstock College and the University of Toronto. He was perhaps a lay worker in the Baptist Church rather than an ordained clergyman, but was active in Baptist work in Hamilton and Toronto establishing or working for missions which later became churches. He is considered to have been the founder of Trinity Baptist Church, Hamilton. He was principal of the Central Collegiate, of Hamilton, from 1885 to 1890. Thereafter, he was professor of classics at McMaster for 37 years beginning in 1890 and lasting till his superannuation in his 78th year. He died in Toronto. He was married to Idelle Snow (d. 1927). (three children) Their son Glenn Howard Campbell (1878-1919) also taught at McMaster, where he was professor of Latin at the time of his death. Peter Sinclair Campbell, the subject of the present entry, was a cousin of the brothers the Rev. J.L. Campbell and P. E.
