====== Fox, William M. ====== (died 26 or 27 Dec. 1927, in his 81st year), clergyman. (William Fox) Born in Wicklow, Ireland. Parents: Michael Fox and his wife Mary McDonald. William M. Fox came to Canada with his parents as a child and settled with them in the Cobourg area. His education included attendance at the Grand Seminary, Montreal. In Toronto, on 8 Feb. 1875, he was ordained to the priesthood. He was pastor of St. Alexander’s Parish, Lochiel, from 1889 to 1903. In 1900 he celebrated the 25th anniversary of his ordination, and in 1903 he resigned from St. Alexander’s for reasons of ill health. (//Glengarry News// 9 Feb. 1900, 13 & 20 Feb. 1903) He was pastor of Precious Blood Parish, Glen Walter, from 1913 to 1923. In 1923 he was appointed chaplain at the Nazareth Orphanage in Cornwall. (//GN// 21 Dec. 1923) Fr Fox died at the Hotel Dieu Hospital, Cornwall. He is buried at St. Alexander’s cemetery, Lochiel, where his monument honours his devotion to St. Theresa, the “Little Flower.” J.J.
