====== Wheeler, Lillian ====== (20 Sept. 1903-3 May 1985), named Soeur Aurélie-du Précieux-Sang, member of religious community. (Sister Mary Aurelia; Sister Aurelia of the Precious Blood) Born at Mille Roches, Ont. Parents: Ernest A. Wheeler and his wife Mary Elizabeth Gibson. Lillian Wheeler entered the Precious Blood Monastery, Toronto, on 18 June 1924 and made her religious profession of vows 20 Oct. 1926. She was a postulant in the Monastery of the Precious Blood, Alexandria, but returned to Toronto in 1926. From 1931 she spent many years in the monastery of her community in China. In 1948, it was announced first that she was believed to be held prisoner in China, and then some weeks later that she had been released by the Communists. (//Standard Freeholder// 1 March & 12 May 1948 ) On 23 Dec. 1948 she returned to Toronto. She was transferred to the Ottawa monastery of her community on 20 Sept. 1949 and Ottawa was her home for the rest of her life.
