He settled in Iron Mountain, Mich., in 1887, having previously prospected for minerals and been a mine manager, presumably in Michigan. Besides being president, probably from 1887, of the First National Bank at Iron Mountain, Mich., he was also one of the founders in 1887 of the Peninsula Bank at Ishpeming, Mich.
