====== Crateau, Wilfred E. ====== (1897-15 July 1973), newspaperman. (W. E. Crateau, Wilfred Crateau) Born in Alexandria, GC. Parents: John Crateau and his wife Amanda Laurin (also known as Maude Laurin or Maud Laurin), who was the daughter of Isaac Laurin, of Alexandria. Wilfred E. Crateau worked for newspapers in Morrisburg, St. Thomas and Oakville, then acquired //The Prescott Journa//l, of Prescott, Ont., which he operated till 1966. He died at Brockville General Hospital. In 1924 he was married to Helen (Nell, Nellie) McTaggart. Wilfred E. Crateau was a nephew of Mayor J.A.
