====== McLennan, Finlay Cattanach ====== (1894-5 March 1991), farmer. (Finlay C. McLennan, F. C. McLennan, Cattanach McLennan, called “F. McLennan graduated in 1923 from the Ontario Agricultural College. At Walkerville, Ont., he worked as a farm manager for Walker Farms, which was owned by the Walker distillery firm, then he returned before the end of the 1920s to operate his parents’ farm in the 2nd Concession of Lancaster Township. Thereafter, throughout a long career, he was one of GC’s most prominent farmers, who operated several farms, in the second of Lancaster and at Glen Gordon, and was a well-known Holstein breeder. He had experience in conducting farm auctions in the United States. Angus H. McDonell saw McLennan’s successful career as being based, above all, on his outstanding “knowledge of cattle and their market value.” Serving in professional organizations, including the Montreal Milk Producers Association, he was active also as school secretary-treasurer, insurance agent, and township tax collector. He died at Cornwall General Hospital. (three children) Presbyterian. Mason. He was married to Phyllis MacMillan. ---- //Glengarry News// 20 March 1991 * biog. sketch (detailed and valuable) in Angus H.
