As a historian, he made valuable contributions to the knowledge of Glengarry history through the following articles: (1) “The Macdonells of Leek, Collachie and Aberchalder,” The Canadian Catholic Historical Association, //Report 1934-1935//, pp. 22-32, (2) “A U.E. Loyalist Family,” Ontario Historical Society, //Papers and Records//, 1937 pp. 140-170, which again is on the Macdonells of Leek, Collachie and Aberchalder, and (3) “Glengarry’s Representatives in the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada,” published in two parts in The Canadian Catholic Historical Association, //Report 1938-1939//, pp. 19-37, and //Report 1939-1940// pp. 27-42. The latter article, abbreviated as Scott i and Scott ii in the notes to the present dictionary, is not without its errors, but as a pioneering work it is little less than astonishing, and it has been used by Harkness and numerous other writers down to the present. ---- //The Evening Citizen// (Ottawa), 23 Aug. 1947 * Morgan (1912) 1006 & 1214 (his father is also in this vol. of Morgan) * editorial, //Standard Freeholder// 28 July 1941, on his articles on GC’s representatives [<6>]
