(died 22 May 1922, aged 84), official. Born at St. Zotique, Que. Parents: Mr & Mrs Etienne LeBlanc. He was a postmaster of River Beaudette, Que., farmer, general storekeeper, and councillor and warden of Soulanges and Vaudreuil Counties. Having moved to Cornwall in 1881, he was a Cornwall resident for 33 years. “For many years he was in the employ of the late George McDonell (Athol), in the general store on Pitt street…,” Cornwall. (See George Macdonell this dictionary) Afterwards, LeBlanc worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Cornwall. He returned to River Beaudette in 1914, was village clerk there, and died at River Beaudette. He was “the founder of the old St. John Baptiste Society in Cornwall.” “He was a veteran of the Fenian Raid and was the proud possessor of the message he received from the Governor-General of Canada, authorizing him to form a battalion to guard the bridge at River Beaudette from the invaders.” Not a Glengarrian, he was a very well and very widely-connected man who made his career at points just east and just west of GC.
