In WWII he served in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, with duties at Kingston. He was interested in sports, including hockey, and served on the Finch village council and on the local school boards. He died at his home in Finch. (three children, two surviving him) He was a Presbyterian and a Presbyterian elder. Mason. His death was followed less than a week later, on 7 April, by that of another veteran Stormont County physician, Dr J. M. Pollock, aged 86, of Avonmore, who had practised medicine for some 60 years at Osnabruck Centre, Moose Creek and Avonmore. Dr Pollock was not a Glengarrian but was of GC descent.
