Murphy, Margaret Bridget

(died 12 June 1985), named Sister Mary Electa, member of religious community. She taught school for a few years before joining the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul. As a member of her community, she was principal of Maryvale Academy, Glen Nevis, GC, for some 30 years. The subjects she taught included Latin and English. Sister Mary Electa served afterwards in the administration of her community. She died at Marian Infirmary, Providence Motherhouse, Kingston, in the 66th year of her religious life. She was the author of a history of her community, Sister Mary Electa, The Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul (1961).
