McIvor, John Graham

(21 Sept. 1867-6 Jan. 1930), clergyman. (J. G. McIvor) Born at Dollar, Scotland. Parents: Mr and Mrs John McIvor. A graduate of Edinburgh University, he came to Canada in 1900, and afterwards studied at Yale and McGill. In 1908 he received his D. D. degree by examination from the Presbyterian College, Montreal. He was a Presbyterian clergyman in P. E. I., Alberta, and Ontario. He was minister of Dalhousie Mills, GC, 1920 to 1926. Until about the end of this period, the Dalhousie minister was also minister of the associated congregation of Cote St. George, Que. At the time of his death, he was the United Church minister at Moulinette, Ont. His place of death was Moulinette. In 1906 he was married to Catherine Campbell of Nova Scotia. (three children) He was the author of The Literary Study of the Prophets (London, Clark & Co., 1925), published while he was minister at Dalhousie Mills.
