U E Loyalist. One of the black Loyalists. Hardly anything is known about him. As a Loyalist, he was granted Lot 23 or part of Lot 23 in the 2nd Concession of Lancaster Township, GC, and in McNiff’s map of 1786 he is listed for this lot. Since this lot was patented to another claimant on 1 Sept. 1797, we may guess that Willliam Thomas was gone from it by that date.
