C., W.P.
An unidentifed author, W.P.C., of Williamstown, GC, wrote in the early Canadian literary journal called the Literary Garland, published at Montreal 1838-1851. In accordance with the literary practice of the time, the pen name could have indicated something other than W.P.C.’s actual name. It could for example have been the intials of a family motto, or a coded reference to the author’s profession.
