Lingenfelter, J.O.,

publisher of agricultural journal. After the first issue, dated July 1898, of The Canadian Cheese and Butter Maker had been published by George F. Brown at Williamstown, GC, the place of publication was changed to Kingston, and J.O. Lingenfelter became the publisher. Publication of this monthly journal continued till at least Dec. 1898. In the issue of Oct. 1898, Lingenfelter, writing as “J. O. L.,” complained about the poor training he got when he went to work in a GC cheese factory in May 1897. In the volume published for the Cornwall Old Boys’ Reunion of 1906, there was a short article on Fraserfield, which the Bowen family was at that time offering for sale. The article told prospective purchasers, “For descriptive pamphlet and full particulars address James O. Lingefelter [sic], Rossmore Hotel, Cornwall, Ont.”
