Hill, Emerson Stanley

(30 April 1898-26 Oct. 1949), physician. (Dr E. S. Hill, Dr Emerson S. Hill) Born at Maxville, GC. Parents: William Hill and his wife Jeanette McPherson. He graduated in medicine from McGill University in 1923, interned at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and the Royal Victoria Hospital, then followed general practice for six years before beginning study in 1931 to be an eye, ear, nose and throat specialist. Dr Hill, who was for some years a staff member at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, had a medical practice at Torrington, Connecticut, in eye, ear, nose and throat diseases from Oct. 1935 till his death. He was married to Rhoda Simpson. Dr Hill, aged only 51, died suddenly from a heart attack at his home in Torrington. (two children) He was a Mason.
